The Hungarian Childhood Vaccination Schedule as on 1 January 2010

1 Non-mandatory vaccination and free of charge for children under 2 years.
2 HepB vaccine is given at this stage to infants of HbsAg positive mothers and to mothers with unknown HbsAg status. Administered in 3 doses, starting within 12 hours post-partum (in case of HbsAg positive mother simultaneously with HB immunoglobulin), second dose, 1 month later and third dose, 6 months after first dose.
3 DTaP, IPV and Hib are given as a combined vaccine.
4 DTaP and IPV are given as a combined vaccine.

Historic changes
1999: A full course of HepB vaccination has been mandatory since 1999 at 14 years of age and for first-year students in schools of higher education for those not previously vaccinated.
2006: The combined vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio and Hib was introduced in the national vaccination schedule and replaced previous forms of vaccination for diphtheria, tetanus, whole-cell pertussis, Hib, and live oral polio vaccines.
2009: From April 2009, PCV7 recommended at national level for children at 2 months and 4 months, with a booster dose at 15 months of age (2+1 regimen).
2009: The dTap vaccine was introduced and replaced previous dT revaccination at aged 11 years.
