The MenC vaccine is recommended simultaneously with the booster dose of the DTaP-HBV-IPV- Hib hexavalent vaccine at 13-18 months of age (preferably at 15 months of age)

MenC is given universally by the private sector while the public sector targets selected groups with e.g. sickle cell disease, immune deficiency etc. |

One dose in the 2nd year of life; should not be administered simultaneously with MMR + monovalent Varicella vaccine or MMRV vaccine. |

If vaccination starts at the age of >12 months, only 1 dose is recommended. |

Vaccination with conjugated Meningococcal vaccine was introduced in the childhood vaccination schedule in October 2002 together with a vaccination campaign to include children 6 months-19 years. |
