Mission The mission of Statens Serum Institut’s site is to pass on knowledge about research, prevention and control of infectious diseases.
Target Groups This site applies primarily to professional health personnel and secondarily to citizens with a special interest in the prevention and control of infectious diseases.
Communication Statens Serum Institut endeavours to communicate in a language where medical terms are used only when needed to clarify the information.

Statens Serum Institut’s e-mail address is serum@ssi.dk. E-mails sent to this address will be opened the same day and passed on to a specialist. Statens Serum Institut intends to respond to all e-mails within 5 working days, however, in case of the employee being on holiday, travelling etc. it might not always be possible.
Statens Serum Institut does not respond to inquiries of a medical nature from private persons.
The documents at www.ssi.dk are currently being updated. All documents are evaluated at least once a year.

About the technicalities
Browser Requirements This site can be viewed with Internet Explorer 5.0 or more and Netscape 6.0 or more.
Screen Resolution Statens Serum Institut uses a fixed screen resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, jus-tified left thus the whole page can be seen at lap tops without using the scroll function. When using 17” screens or more a blank area will appear in the right-hand side of the screen.
Operating System This site is tested in MS-Windows, Mac and Linux.

As for PDF, word and other formats there are plug-ins to a reader.
